I think just the music sets the mood for what kind of game this is

It's...epic! Alright, so, the story is pretty simple. There's this King that tried to use the powers of souls to gain all might power...but he ended up summoning the badass demon called "Ancient One"
At this point, shit went to hell in his kingdom. A fog covered it, and anyone that tried to enter or leave would loose their souls
You are called here by the maiden in black to save the kingdom and stop the bad guys.
It's nothing new

Now...about the gameplay...this game...is HAAAARD. Just that hard that makes you want to go out and kill a cow. But, thing is it ISN'T unfair. it's hard but fair. If you die (which you will, trust me) it's your fault not the games. You cannot say this game is unjust. The physics are realistic, the movements are all timed and calibrated...it's a great real time RPG.
You die, you gain experience. The game teaches you how to win. When you do...you'll be fucking happy. It means something to win in this game.

It's an RPG, so it functions similarly to most. You have different classes, but the starting class only dictates your starting stats. You will have access to everything in the game regardless of what you choose.
The game's form of currency is souls of the defeated enemies. And this is where things get even worse. You can't store souls, you either use them or keep them on you. If you die, you loose the souls and return to the start of the level in "soul form" with half your health. You can backtrack to the point where you died and retrieve your souls, but if you die in soul form, you loose those souls for good. To return to your normal body you need to defeat a boss...that's right, a boss. And if normal gameplay is hard...the boss are WORSE!

graphics in this game...are just beautiful. Don't play it late at night or you'll piss yourself (not really XD). It's dark, and most importantly, it feels real. The physics engine helps this greatly.

I easily name this the best RPG to come out in like...the last decade maybe. Easily the game of the year as well (Uncharted 2 holds it's own, but I think this game beats it)

10/10 For gamers
9/10 for non gamers, as the game may be frustrating unless you have spirit for it

lol, that song is delightfully cheesy. I sometimes just let the opening credits role just to see it.

Okay, have you gotten the Red Eye Stone? You get it when you do the bad guy ending and use it for PVP. It works like a Blue Eye Stone, but you get summoned as a Black Phantom. The loser loses a soul level and the winner gets the souls it took for that player to level up.

Here's something that's wrong with the system. You can summon blue phantoms, then summon a black phantom and pretty much gang rape him the second he spawns and basically steal his soul level. I've had the same player do it to me twice already, but I used the equalizer to get back at him. I went to the XMB and quit the game. Honestly, I recommend doing this to players who gang rape you like that because it really is a total cheap shot as the Red Eye Stone is clearly meant for a 1 on 1 match. I find it stupid of From Software to even allow the 3-on-1 match for these situations. It's totally ridiculous.

I have played this game very little
Only enough to grasp basic concepts and gameplay so I could write this.

I cannot help much in story...I'm still hoping that through some miracle I'll get the fucking PS3 and buy the game

Yeah, I think even if you quit the match you still lose a soul level and they get your points. So unfair.

I wouldn't put it past them.

Just turn of the PSN if it bothers you so
