Puella Magi Madoka Magia

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I present to you the anime of the season, if not year (taken into consideration what this year shall bring us, I can't state this for certain yet)

And it's name...exactly what it says in the title!

Young middle school girl Madoka is suddenly thrown into a world of witches and magic, with a strange creature named Kyuube offering her a chance to become a magical girl. She is accompanied by her friend and headstrong moralist Sayaka, and the classy and lady like magical girl veteran Mami, while they fight witches, the manifestation of grief and pain, and their familiaries

And then things get worse...and worse...and worse...and worse...and worse...and worse. And will likely KEEP getting worse

She is soon met with the reality of battle, the despair of loss, and the fact that sometimes, the idealism scale goes flat into cynicism without regard for anyone involved.

The anime is made by studio SHAFT, and written by Gen Urobushi. Why do I reference the written in particular? Well anyone that knows the visual novel Saya no Uta already knows EXACTLY what this man likes to do to the cutie
And it isn't pretty.

I don't want to spoil much. The anime is scheduled for 13 episodes I believe, and it's currently at its 8th. Avoid spoilers at all costs, go to tokyo tosho for you healthy dose of dem torrents.

I recommend the yesy subs for the already aired. They're slow though, so go with nutbladder to keep up with releases. Episodes come out Thursday night in Japan and get released Friday with subs

And finally, THIS piece of theme music, made by the group Kalafina, is the ending theme. It only shows up in episode 3 because the very feel it gives is only present from that episode on.
