Here is the current situation.

For the last day, Japan has been dealing with the Earthquake that hit its West shore. Sandai was the worst hit area.

As for the nuclear problem, they haven't managed to handle the rod heating in one of the older plants. Evacuation has been organized for a 3 km radius.

Over 400 confirmed deaths, thousands missing. It could have been worse.

Now, as for what most people are wondering, the famous people. I for one don't have much interest in this, but...

Well, that's all. Keep your prayers on whatever deity you believe in going, because shit might hit the fan even more. One of the nuclear reactors isn't stable yet (although they claim it is not cause for alarm) and there's another tsunami warning
And a guy I know in Japan (search choroyama on twitter. He's a DJ in Akihabara and I follow him for some of the streams he puts on) said that the aftershocks are still going on

Well anyway, jokes aside, it'll be fine. The "nuclear stuff" will be at most a gas leak with radiation, and the winds are facing towards the sea. Areas been evacuated for 3 km, everything should be fine

I'm more concerned about the tsunami. it hit pretty hard

I don't think the radiation can end us or this, I am starting to be a believer in 2012 theory from the movie, but I know Jesus will save us, and only he knows when end times are.

So how do you know when Mangaka are safe? is DBZ's creator, Oda, Kubo, and YYh's creator ok?

Just an update:

There are over 10 thousand confirmed victims (dat tsunami fucked everything relaly badly)

Also, the nuclear plant in Fukushima just got an explosion in the third reactor, and the fourth is in danger
I don't know exactly how a nuclear plant works, but I do know that if the core gets compromised, we have ourselves one nasty explosion.

However, the radiation and contamination levels are already past Chernobyl's, although this is something I heard on the news and frankly have a very hard time believing

I'd like to express my deepest condolences to the all families/friends and everyone that lost their loved ones or got them seriously injured or are left without homes and properties.

I was following the whole situation this week and I can't believe what kind of stuff I was seeing...its literally worse than in movies...unbelievable...what water can do is absolutely unbelievable...

Now I know the whole catastrophe stopped and it all calmed down a bit, but I am not sure did Fukushima nuclear reactor turned off? or is it still dangerous? I heard it shut down itself :i If so, that's unbelievable luck within this series of unbelievably unlucky events.
Thousands already died and many more thousands can die if the nuclear reactor totally explodes and unleashes the radiation

I really hope Japan will recover from this as soon as possible...If this happened ANYWHERE else in the world I'm sure there wouldn't be a single vertical building even after the earthquake let alone Tsunami and there would be much more victims...cause Japanese are pretty prepared for these types of things.

May victims rest in piece and may survived ones heal the pain with time and our help.

I am no nuclear physicist either, but it is hard to get the real deal on the nuclear situation.

One of my friends in Japan, who lives in the city of Nara (far away from Sendai) says things are in calm over there in his region, but of course he is worried for things over at Sendai and wishes to help somehow.

He hasn't told me anything about the media, but looking at the main channels via KeyHoleTV, they seem to be calmed about the situation but of course covering it. A total difference from the news here in Mexico where Lopez Doriga in Televisa tries to exploit this tragedy, in all the fashions of a yellow tabloid! lol at Carlos Loret de Mula acting like the apocalypse at Tokyo when people where passing by around like nothing in the background.

Right now it is hard to trust the western media, as it is all confusing with the japanese govt. saying it is all under control; while the french saying this has reached apocalyptic heights, and the whole radiation coming over to the american continent if it was just a rumor or not...

VegetaDTX... have you seen something that was affected by Chernobyl nearby where you live? If so, so we can get an idea, since again the media say that problem in Sendai is worse than that in Chernobyl.

Says that the 4th reactor is no longer on fire, but it got hit with a blast. Fuck if I know what that means.

Buuut, what I do know is that there's no news on the 5th and 6th reactors. And that's good news in of itself, given the situation.

As for the media, yea, I agree with Tlaloc. Don't trust anything you see on TV- Search the internet. for friends that have friends in Japan, or learn moonrunes. Whatever you can. Just double check anything that you see on TV.

the funny thing is that if we go by WW2, standards, Nagasaki and Hiroshima pretty much puts the civilian casualties between Japan and the US squarely on the Jap side.

Its also perfectly fine to dislike Japan in general as a country, culture, mentality...that's your thing, your taste, your mentality, your life.
As a matter of fact I honestly feel the same way about USA, I both hate their government and don't like the overall lifestyle, culture, media and mentality.
