The King of Fighters movie... yes, Hollyweird

The story is a complete mess. It tells that the Yagami, Kusanagi and Kagura families have to travel to universes and beat their champions while escaping from an evil force...

That has nothing to do with the actual stories of the KOF universe, because as I say; it is a universe, not various like this craptacular movie states.

Really, a sad age for us fans of japanese franchises.

When will Hollywood ever learn?

BTW, I've never heard of KoF, but I will be sure to not see this movie.

Well KOF and most of the games made by its company (SNK) aren't well known in the USA; but yes in Latin America and Europe. I may give you the insight story on the SNK verse later.

Well, I don't know much about SNK other than the Capcom vs SNK arcade game, lol.

I've played that game and followed the series from tournament 1994 to tournament 2003. Was not able to catch up 2004 onwards due to college life. One of the best series for me, in equal par to street fighter.

Thing is from what I read, it won't cover any of the known sagas. That is why the site from the link I place call this movie another epic failure along with the DB movie.

This is Wikipedia's article on KOF, still Son Goku if you have some questions, ask me but I suggest you to also look at the articles on characters from the game and from other games like Fatal Fury and Art Of Fighting since the KOF/SNk universe is quite big.

While in the US they view Mortal Kombat as Street Fighter's rival, in Japan they see it is SNK as they barely know Mortal Kombat they can't relate it as a rival to SF; and they have already have their games.

Sh*t! it's like making a dbz movie without krillin! How will they explain the EPIC rivalry between kyo and Iori? the existence of major characters like K', Bloodriot Iori, K999 and Kuala? 10 years of epic saga all down the drain? What are they going to do, put all the characters in a highschool campus and assume the character will get to know everybody as the story progresses? Oh wait, they did that to Dragonball...
DAMN! First, Street fighter, then DBZ, then this?! What will they do next?
Starcraft? Yuyu Hakusho? Tekken? (oh wait, they planning to do the same on tekken)

Why are some of the fans disappointed?
Basically they made a great-looking game and used that to explain the rather low number of characters.This game will not have a storyline and that's the most disappointing thing for me. That can not even be explained.
It's like:"Here, enjoy it you fools, you should be thankful...yes, even for this."
Now about the look of one character (I know that somebody will find this trivial but it's something that's really important to me).
What they did to Ralf?! They made him look bigger and bigger (fatter and fatter) over the years, but this is just ridiculous. I mean- that's just disproportional!
Oh, yes, and Athena looks even younger.
(And Leona has ugly pants XD, but that's just a small detail so...)

The last three characters that they decided to put in the game are:Clark, Duo Lon and Joe. Now, I'm happy that they decided to put Joe, but I expected to see at least one female character and SNK showed me that my predictions were wrong about that too.

As for the upcoming movie. Guess what - yes, it will be a disaster.
The story is as bad as in the High School Musical Z.

I don't know...Honestly, I won't mind seeing him in a new outfit, but in the same time there is something about that old one...it'll be hard for the fans to get used to the new one.
