Hey everyone, I would like to let you know that DBthemovie.com will be closing and moving to a new website this week. If you want to know all the details head on over to the new site, but it really boils down to lack of interest in the live-action movie and the lack of funds to single-handedly run the website anymore.

A friend offered to host all of our content on his website, as well as let us blog about anything related to Dragonball. So we aren’t going to just vanish like some websites. We hope you’ll join us over at our new home.

While this may be the best sign and a dream come true for us protesters, in other words - while this finally might imply that there will be no sequels indeed! (please KAMI! ), these news and this post is not intended as a provocation of any kind or anything like that!! We do dislike dbthemovie.com, we had different goals, different motives, we were practical enemies all this time, but that doesn't mean that we'll laugh about them closing their site or anything like that. We believe that we should never fall on a level of some DBE supporters who have been flaming, mocking and laughing at us many times throughout last 1.5 years.
This is purely intended as an information which we wanted to spread across DB fan base.
Therefore any kind of our happy reactions and celebrations about these news is in no way connected with the dbthemovie itself, but its rather our happiness about seeing one VERY CLEAR AND BEAUTIFUL SIGN!
Please dbthemovie do not take this as anything aimed towards you yourselves! Thank you!

The point is that they are not gonna be DBE related anymore, but just DB related in general...and put on somebodies elses backs like secor said.

You people do realize that www.dbthemovie.com had no connection whatsoever with 20th Century Fox.

Its a fan site founded by an public individual/s with no associations with Fox dedicated for DB:E. In the websites forum section they had members who were both against and for the film constantly debating as to whether the movie was going in the right direction (it became fairly obvious throughout production and the previous lackluster attempt of Fox cheapening properties like nothing but a dirty prostitute) or in a completely terrible direction due to Fox indifferent attitude towards the production and basically hiring a mediocre director , uninspired casting and worst of all a completely and utterly incompetent studio (ding!).

With that said my feelings towards DB:E are fairly obvious but www.dbthemovie.com was in no way, I repeat in no way connected with Fox either as partner or a marketing blog. It was simply composed and funded by excited fan/s looking forward towards watching the film. Even the owner of the site writes his opinion of the film which calls out DB:E for the garbage it is.

The bottom line is that all "Dragonball" fans fell victim of having a property they enjoyed and cared about taken by the hands of one of the most back shafting, careless, incompetent , greedy to the point of giving huge properties adaptations that aren't worth two shits buy the filming rights for "Dragonball".

Thanks to DB:E making a reboot almost a big no-no as the property in live action is toxic because of DB:E complete failings both critically and financially.

We can only hope that a proper adaptation can be done once the property license goes into the public market from a studio (preferably Warner Bros or Paramount) that actually has a brain and a sense of understanding on how to approach and adapt the material to give this wonderful franchise a chance of actually given a fair shot in the capable hands.

Its a shame really. We were all robbed of a good adaptation due to 20th Century Fox idiotically poor choices in making this film.

Heres hoping for brighter days in "Dragonballs" cinematic future!

I wouldn't be so sure about it, as multiple times the news in blog stated that they weren't allowed to post something because 20th Century Fox didn't allow them, just as they themselves interviewed Justing Chatwin and received news directly from Fox. That to me clearly implies that they were at least in some kind of collaboration...I don't say that they were financially supported by Fox, no(but maybe who knows), I just think they supported them and were contacting them from time to time and sometimes sending them latest news, suggestions and maybe instructions...
That is my personal impression and the proofs for some things I've said now can be found in some old news on dbthemovie blog as well as in some more recent ones.

The goal of that place was clearly to support the movie, at least in the beginning. I had no desire to join there and participate in any debate, because a would just get labeled as a "hater" by the majority of those members. They were removing the polls as soon as the negative votes would pile up...not to mention that in some of the polls you couldn't even vote for a negative impression. Sad place.

^Yes I agree my friend, I remember that place being completely on side on DBE and I still strongly believe that if nothing else they were verbally supported and sometimes updated with the latest news by Fox.

But hey, their life, their thing.
