haha, I know i love it! That show's so great X D I dunno, I just really love it, i think it's my all time favorite anime. Rena is such my favorite character on the show, and my 2nd all time fav anime character, after osaka.

Trust me, you kinda get used to the show, or something. it stopped bothering me as much after a while.

by the way, the plot gets really good in the 2nd season, higurashi no naku koro ni kai, it explains everything

i already get it all. By the time I'm done with season one, I should be able to solve this. The clues are right there, so it's easy. But, its so effed up the way the girls go mental

Its a fantastic anime... In a certain way, it is similar to Elfen Lied... so, of course i would love Higurashi too

I watched episode one dubbed on youtube... that introduction was godlike...lol... im going to download it but in the subbed version (i hate dubs). Thank you Jessica and lol1991, to introduce me with such awesome anime

I never saw the dub, I just went straight to subs. I onlywatch dubs if they're on TV, or if I happen to buy a DVD that only has english on it.

The protest against the dam. It was based in the shrine. The priest from the shrine was both a victim, and Rika's dad...and now Rika does stuff at the cotton festival...I still don't know how all this pieces together, but I will get there.!!!

By ep 9's start, with the introduction of Irie "Coach" I thought I had it...

But now, by the end of this new arc, Sakota's arc, it's even worse to make out what's going on

And lack of sleep doesn't help. Between half expecting to get injected with some crazy drug, have my fingers nailed to my bed, being chopped to pieces, and...I dunno, my intestines being pulled out...between ALL that, and the fact my brain CANNOT STOP WORKING ON THIS, I didn't sleep...damn this anime as effed up...I haven't felt like this in almost a year now...

now...I think after this arc I'll have it...I gotta have it or I'm not worthy to call myself a good deduction guy...

Okay, after watching ALL of season 1, with all the factors in, before I proceed to the conclusion in two, I'll leave this here as my "wager"

I pretty much wouldn't have figured this out without this last "question arc"

Basically, all my previews question were answered, and replaced with new ones.

Why were Mion's family murdering people? it made no sense. And the worst thing that didn't, was WTF us up with Sakota and Satoshi's story. Now I haz it!!

The last arc tells us that the three great families are trying to renew the village's belief in their little god. Using a bioterrorist attack. This took a turn from horror mystery to sci fi real quick

But, after the "mystical part" was solved, the answer was easy.

Who is behind the recent murders. THAT'S THE REAL QUESTION!

See, in the previews arc, where we see Shion's past, Mion seemed surprised that Miyo and photographer guy were dead when Shion told her...why was that? And Satoshi? Again, why didn't she have knowledge of this shit!! Again, I'm positive she wasn't lying. She was about to die. Not the time for lies damn it. No human would lie under that pressure, specially not a little girl

Then it hit me. Cause her family didn't do nothing this year. Then, wtf happened? Well, the circumstances behind the photographer murder, plus, a liiiitle couple of clues from WAY back to arc 1 gave me the answer....

The culprit of the recent Cotton Festival Murders...IS MIYO TAKADA!! (the blond creepy lady)

I can deduce this, because the body they found wasn't hers. They say it was dead for 24 hours before being roasted. Now, we could just say they put her body elsewhere, but why would they bother? They have the curso on their side. No one would point fingers.

No, she faked her death. She just underestimated the polices autopsy, or was careless. Either way, she faked her death. Why did she attack him though? to test her drug, a drug she had been making, and the same on that was used on Keiichi before he died in arc one. Her research notes back this up

The one Rena and Mion, in their psycho mode, gave to Keiichi. I knew it would play a role, and I never let go of that one fact!!

Here's my view.

Miyo is trying to do one of three things:

Cure the condition (she's still evil cause she's testing on humans)
recreating the bacteria and causing a pandemic
just proving it exists

Also, another thing...Dr. Irie...the "Coach" of the baseball team...HE'S IN ON IT!! He seems like a nice guy, but come on, we all remember Rena and Mion saying they called the "Coach" to help Keiichi?

But, there's something weird...Keiichi, he may have suffered from the condition without the drug, and when they gave it to him, it worsened. Then, it is possible, that, in his paranoia in the first arc, all of her friends weird shit never happened. THEY WERE TRYING TO HELP HIM! This, however, is most likely wrong, because what caused Keiichi's death, was the drug no doubt (I'm 56& sure, following L's statics)

if they were, why call on "Coach"? Maybe, he fooled them. That, or he was also a pawn in Miyo's plan. I think it's the later. Why?

Satoshi and Sakoto

I think Satoshi came down with the condition. And, I think that Irie genuinely cares about him and his sister. I get that feeling.

So, Irie was really trying to cure the disease, but the queen bitch Moya used his research to recreate the virus and is gonna cause hell.

Also, should have he manged to find the cure (not sure on this), then maybe, two things happened

Satoshi is alive and just ran away from the three families to keep the research a secrete
Sakota as the condition. This is further evidenced by her behavior at the end of arc 3. She lost it WAAAY to much for a simple anger management problem.

Plus, in Shion's arc, when Rica attacked her, she was holding a syringe. The bitch was already crazy, no point in making it worse, she wasn't going to die. So, instead, that may have been a cure or some management shit.

Now, the final lose ends

Shion and Rixa

Shion, I think is just a normal chick that carries the disease. It must be able to transmit through birth, but only to the first born. Also, keep this in mind.

Shion we know was actual suppose to me Mion. I'm 7% sure (think L percentages) that there was a mix up at birth. Shion has the "demon" (or rather, the virus) but was mistaken as the second born. Mion is just a normal hot green hair (who needs to get together with Keiichi when this shows ends or I'll be pissed)

So, what about cute little Rica? I'm positive something going on there. The 4th arc lies not.

So, what do I make of it. Well, there is one last thing

I initially saw this anime as a sort of game. But, why would the network adapt the game like it actually is? No, they did different. They must have. So, what is the explanation for the constant reboots and restarts on the characters lives? (at least, for the days leading up to and after the festival)

Well, i say Rica is causing an effin time lop! SHE KNOWS IT! She knew everything that was gonna happen? SHE KNOWS!! Why, cause she's either one sick fuck and is just having her fun (if this is the case, it turns out she is the final enemy), or she's trying to help her friends by giving them all they chances they need. Also, her voice changes when she goes into serious mode, but she doesn't lost it. She just goes kinda "pwning time bitches"

And there you have it. These are my findings. to conclude

Miyo Takada (blond hair creepy lade) is the main culprit
Irie is in on it, either has a pawn, or aware of her plans (he's a good guy, so I go with pawn)
Rica is causing a temporal loop eitehr because she's the true major villain, or she's trying to help her friends.

ok ok there's so much to explain and agree with and prove wrong...

yes, takano is the main villian, and she faked her death. she's behind the bio-terrorism.
no on irie. he is clueless at first and follows takano but later breaks away.
There is a time loop, but rika diesn't cause it and she's trying to save herself and her friends.
the 2nd season explains everything, reveals alot, and there's even another main character that is unseen in the 1st season.

oh, and in the 1st arc, it turns out keiichi was just really messed up on hinamizawa symptom and was paranoid and hallucinating alot. Mion and Rena didn't even have a needle, they had a MARKER. they were just going to draw on keiichi, but he was hallucinating and saw it as a needle and killed them.

also, things can be radically different in each new arc when time restarts, so really depending on how some trivial events unfold, the ending can be really different. Like, if keiichi gave the doll to mion instead of rena, or if rena went to somebody for help before killing her dad's skanky girlfriend and her pimp

its a hard show to explain to someone, you just gotta watch it all.

by the way Lol-kun, have you heard any of the vocal OST for higurashi, like the character songs and all the different versions of the song Dear You? I really love the music, they voice actors are pretty good singers and the character songs are great. I like rena's and rika's and hanyuu's alot.

Okay, so...I was right and wrong? But then...how did Rika know all that shit and always goes serious if she isn't causing something? Are you sure? Either way, she IS AWARE of the time loop, I AM POSITIVE of at least that.

And I knew Keiichi was just high on LSD bacteria (the weird disease. So it's called Hinamizawa syndrome huh?) when he saw all those things. I just thought that the needle was real, but was the cure...weird.

And what about the Sakota and Satoshi part? They had the disease right?
