A military soldier vs a Navy marine.

It's often claimed that marines are stronger. So if a soldier and a marine faced off, who would you guys say win.

Um, lets just say the U.S.

It highly depends of the weapon type, of the luck and of course of the individual.
It also depends of so many other factors such as which military soldier it is? environment in which they fight etc etc...

Basically in an armed fight everything can happen so I can't say for sure, if the question was more specific and giving some extra info I could possibly decide...
But if you were referring to unarmed fight then I give a big advantage to the spetshnaz by far above all other special forces, and between US Green Berets and Seals, I give advantage to Green Berets.

I don't think there a Navy Marine in the US the Navy and the Marines are two different branches.

The marines and navy are separate in the US. The marines in the U.S are kind of a mix of army and navy. They are also put through more hell than both of them.

I find this thread kind of funny for the way it was worded but I get the meaning.

First off, a Marine is a miltary soldier, so I'm guessing you mean someone in the Army.

Second, in terms of the United States a Marine soldier is not part of the Navy. However, a Seal is part of the navy.

When it comes down to it, it depends on the individual.

I've gotta agree with DTX on this, though. Even though it comes down to the individual, I think Spetsnaz overall would beat any of these guys hands down. Not that their equipment is the best (though personally I'd take the old AK-47 over the jamming M16 any day), but their training is ridiculously harsh.

Well the M16's three round burst is practically an instant kill. Though the AK has some crazy firepower too.

Yeah, I'd take the M16 if it weren't so unreliable. Plus the reloading is done with the non-trigger pulling hand so you can continue to aim while reloading, except in Modern Warfare 2 of course.
