What if this board was an anime and 4Kids got hold of it?

Its a dark day for the anime community; the anime known as Dragonball Live Action Movie Protest Board has recieved a dubber... 4KIDS!!!!

*DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!*

Here are some of the many changes they did to the series.

Name Changes;

Vegeta DTX - Reginald Daniels
Son Goku - Steve Geraldson
Jessica Raine - Judy Rickson
Nikku - Micky
Milo Venturo - Mike Robinson
Justin Lynch - Johnny Boggins


Edits;

* The kanji on Son's book has been removed, even the kanji laden pages, so he is picking up and reading a blank book.

* Nikku's tears have been digitally painted out.

* Milo punching the bank robber has had a big white star placed on the screen so you don't see the punch.

* The bank robber in the above scene has had his gun changed to an ice lolly.

* In the scene where Justin finds the dead body, the body has been edited out. Further more, he now no longer exlamis that there's a dead body in the attic, but now complains that "the floor is too dirty".

* The group discussing how to beat the evil syndicate has been altered so that they now discuss what sandwiches they want for lunch.

* In the Japanese version, Nikku was voiced by a girl, in the dub Nikku is voiced by a male voice actor.


Cuts;

* The scene where Jessie dances to J-Pop has been cut.

* The shot of Nikku's room has been cut.

* The scene where Son Goku joins the group has been cut, so he just sort of appears after the commercial break with no one asking who he is or where he came from.

* Justin picking up a glass of water has been cut, so now he suddenly has one between shots.

* Milo running towards the house has been cut.

Total episode time retained = 10 minutes of the 30 minute run time.

5 years later, 4Kids dropped the licence and Nick(Bardockcan'thaveascar)toons got it!! Here are the new changes as listed by a horrified fan after he viewed the first episode last week;

* The opening narration now longer has Vegeta DTX stating what he actually said, but says something completely different =

Original - "The travesty known as Dragonball Evolution has finally reared its ugly head and cast its dark shadow on the world. Now, the small band of protesters have finally joined forces to combat the evil!"

Dub - "Steve Goku married his high school sweetheart... Cassandra and has started a massive kindergarten for young adults and not just kids! He's invited all of his friends around to play games with him! The fun time is about to beging boys and girls! Why don't ya join us for some fun!"

Yeah so now Son Goku went to HIGH SCHOOL and the protest board is now a "kindergarten for adults". They also tried to include some teenage love drama, he never even mentioned love or girls in the original!!!


* Milo punching the bank robber STILL has the infamous big white star placed on the screen over the punch, but now it is colored pink for some reason.

* The bank robber in the scene's gun is no longer an ice lolly, but nothing at all! So when he robs the bank and threatens people, he now just points his finger at them!!!

* In the scene where Justin finds the dead body, the body has been changed to him just "sleeping". Now when the others get freaked out by the dead body, they now become freaked out by wondering how much they'll make him pay for the housekeeping money.

* In the Japanese version, Nikku was voiced by a girl, in the 4Kids dub Nikku is voiced by a male voice actor. In the Nicktoons dub, Nikku is voiced by an extremely irritating high pitched girl.

Cuts;

* The scene where Jessie dances to J-Pop has been cut again.

* The scene where Son Goku joins the group has been restored, but he now says that they're all going to have fun and games at his kindergarten.

* Justin picking up a glass of water has been vut yet again.

* Milo running towards the house has been cut by 0000000000.001 seconds, so what was the f**king point in that Nicktoons!?!?

Total episode time retained = 23 minutes of the 30 minute run time.

A few years after the horrendous Nicktoons dub, Funimation got the licence. Aside from rereleasing the series 50 million times on DVD as they did with Dragonball Z, they also made some hefty edits!

Jessica Raine - Jess Rune
Nikku - Nicky
Milo Venturo - Meelo Venaturoruro
Justin Lynch - Justin Chatwin (was later changed to Justa Cronos as EXTREME complaints and bomb threats)

* Milo punching the bank robber has no star, but the blood is still edited out.

* The bank robber in the scene's gun is now present, but the bullets have been changed to laser blasts. Yeah, f**king LASER BLASTS. He's firin' his lazer indeed!

* In the scene where Justin finds the dead body, the blood has been removed. Oddly enough, Justin still says "There was so much blood!!!"

* In the Japanese version, Nikku was voiced by a girl, in the 4Kids dub Nikku is voiced by a male voice actor. In the Funimation dub, Nikku is voiced by VIC MIGNOGNA baby!!! Everyone else is voiced by Chris Sabat and sound like chain smokers.

* Jessie dancing to J-Pop has been restored, but the music (as well as all the other music in the series) has been changed to generic rock music.

Cuts;

* The scene where Son Goku joins the group has been restored, but he now says how great it is to see Vegeta DTX again, even though they last saw each other a few minutes before the episode began. This makes the following dub only lines that much more hillarious;

Vegeta DTX - Greetings my powerful and epic friend! I've not seen you in years!
Son Goku - Agreed my oldest and greatest friend! It must have been at least a decade since we last met!

(And these two weren't even that close in the original!!)

* Justin picking up a glass of water has been cut yet again. WHY!?!? ITS A HARMLESS GLASS OF H20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* Milo running towards the house has been cut by 5 seconds.

Total episode time retained = 27 minutes of the 30 minute run time.

BIG NEWS! Apparently people actually LIKED the Funimation dub and so they have just released the second episode;

New characters introduced;

Tlaloc - Trevor
Ningen - Nigel
Neo4Demon - Noel Furlong Davidson


Edits;

* In the original version, when Tlaloc was introduced, he simply smirked and went "Heh!" when he killed the evil cyborg, but in the Funimation versio, he now has a big long monoluge, spoken when he is offscreen.

Original - "Heh!"

Dubbed - "Hah! Wow I had no idea that these cyborgs had gotten so strong, it took all my efforts just to take apart that one! The evil organisation has really pulled out all the stops here, I'm not sure if we can stop them! I'll have to find some more allies and friends to help and assist me in battling and eventually destorying the evil orginisation and their evil bad nasty horrid cyborgs!"

.............Funimation, ladies and gentlemen.

* When Jessie narrowly avoids the sword from one cyborgs, she recieves a cut on her cheek. She later touches the wound and looks at her blood stained hand. In the dub, the blood is completely removed, so she touches no wound and looks at her clean hand.

* When the seedy looking guy goes to the bar, he orders Beer in the original. In the dub... well, just listen for yourselves!

Original - "Hey barkeep! Gimme a beer! The hardest one ya got!"

Dub - "Excuse me my fine fellow, might I request a milk? Milk is really good for you while beer is very bad."

Uuuugh... the beer is also painted pink. PINK!?!? PINK F**KING MILK????

* After a while, the seedy looking guy gets drunk off the beer. In the dub, he gets "angry".

* Nikku no longer speaks in the happy go lucky kiddie sort of way as in the original. In the dub, Nikku now speaks the queen's English. Take a look at this line;

Original - "Nikku is happy! Nikku is excited!!"

Dub - "Why I must admit to being really rather ecstatic about all this. Jolly good show, old bean."

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE MEEEEEE!?!?

* Son Goku now orders a copy of "Children's World" instead of "Video Game Monthly".

* All of Ningen's swear words have replaced with the following;

F**k - Fudge
S**t - Sticks
Bastard - Blobber
D**khead - Stupidhead
Bitch - Bongo

* In the flashback where the DBE cast and crew bomb the poor country with the mini atomic bomb has been mutilated, I mean altered. Now, the mushroom cloud is changed to a cooking experiment gone wrong. Funimation also added additional dialouge. In the original, everyone was killed instantly, in the dub, people can be heard going "AAAAGH!!! Darn that cooking!!" "I told you to turn the oven off!" and "Why didn't he go to a restaurant like I said!?"

* Justin no longer has a collection of Hentai, but a collection of "comic books". Blank comic books as well.

Cuts;

* Son no longer jumps off the building to the ground below to face the cyborgs. He now just appears there. The dialogue was also altered:

Cyborg - Damn it! Why won't you just die??
Son - Cause I never lerned how to.

Cyborg - WHAT!! Where in the world did you come from!?
Steve - A good magician never reveals his tricks!

* In the original, Nikku ran around, swinging a massive sword around wildly, he even chops off a guards balls. In the dub, he swings around a massive foam hammer. The guard no longer has his balls removed, but instead wets himself out of fear. To achieve this, the shot of the ball removing swing has been cut.

* Vegeta DTX no longer wipes the blood off his face in the battle, his face is just sort of clean between shots!

Total running time retained = 26 minutes of 30 minutes
