nightmare luffy 3d

Luffy a character from One Piece(which i am a huge fan of as you can tell) in his "nightmare" form during the Thriller Bark arc...this is mostly for One Piece fans...if there are any....

I'm currently making other anime characters in order to get better, Suggestions are welcome...actually give me suggestions on what i can do plox

Wait a second. Luffy can streatch and change gears to increase his overall strenght, or something like that. Why his he dark in this?

yea that fight belongs in "if Hulk and a Collossus from shadow of the COllusus were to fight, who would win" lol

i watched those eps....its like one of the few manga battles ive actually watched

btw if you think its lacking in the graphics dept. especially in the hands....it was meant to be made into a homemade ds game lols as a project, I just felt like re-using the same model for my HDRI project to save time....teacher set restrictions.....and i put most of my polygons on the chest lol

I am into 3D for a good time now and I can tell that its pretty nice looking!

ahh if i told you what was happening at this arc the manga is at right now...your head mightve blown up

but imma give you hints : Luffy is creating a strikeforce made up of characters that arent from his crew, you know those characters..they have appeared before..someone has fallen madly in love with luffy....and a huge battle looms that has to do with someone Roger has met before.....

Ill post up a high polygon version of Casshern soon....once im done with it...hopefully people will like it cuz its gonna be part of my demo reel...

Also one question, I guess you used the picture as a background and just put the floor and transferred the shadow map onto image in Photoshop?

Since I wanted to do that couple times but never really took some time...so wanna see if you do it by shadow maps or how exactly?

sorry for the long reply....

well i modelled a room(basically the box and some other parts where my shadow would touch) and used HDRI(that reflective ball you see in behind the scenes look in movies sometimes) to get the overall global lighting of the area i was taking pictures in....then I rendered the same kind of lighting that was shown in the pic along with the HDR image as a background....its a long ass process if i were to go thru with it....but if you know how to use 3ds max, i can pass along notes i have on the subject if you want....however you will need that HDR ball also to do that.......
