Whats with Hollywood's sudden anime ruining fetish?

They wreck Speed Racer and Dragonball, now they're ruining Akira and Cowboy Bebop and NOW its Full Metal Panic's turn. They'd better hope to high Heaven that they don't get their grubby little hands on the following;

FRUITS BASKET!
I love fruits basket, I'd hate to see it ruined T_T I"m so weird about wanting to see fruits basket unchanged that I don't even watch the anime, I just read the manga because they changed a few things in the anime X D in the manga, my favorite character is half japanese and half german and randomlly breaks into german, but in the anime he doesn't, and that's too much of a change for me. I know a movie would destroy everything about Fruits Basket...

After DB, Death Note and Elfen Lied are my favourites!!!! If they do shit with this ones....................i just.... 
PS: i never watched speed racer (movie and anime).. but i read somewhere that the movie have most of the anime origins, and that it was not that bad!!! well the producers are the same as the matrix, right?? Speed Racer was bad??? But those guys made the matrix (i loved that movie)!!!

all I know is that speed looked much too old. and lacked the REDICULOUSLY long, feminine eyelashes he had in the anime. I never watched it but I've seen some pics. DAMN, so long....WHY?
