Personality:
James at first was a light hearted person that used his powers for both good, and for his own personal amusement, fun and use. He passed exams using it, and even on occasion spied on couples (including Anna and Alisa).
However, after the civil war, and during the times after, James slowly hardened to reality and became a much more brooding and serious character. While at heart he's still a good person and willing to loosen himself to others, he's much more serious and unwilling to let go of his morals
He's gained a very "black and white" view of the world as well, believing that people are either evil by nature, or they're forced to it by their bad lives, but either way they have no excuse to commit evil acts.
He am Yama seem to always be together, and understand each other greatly, serving as a more serious fooly to Harry and Filipe's duo of comedy

-PhD in human psychology:
He has a degree in psychology, so he has a fair understanding of the human mind and can actually practice as a therapist

-Gun training:
He's trained by Fawkes to use several types of guns, from low to moderate success. His powers allow him to adequately predict his target's movements

-Hand to hand combat:
He can fight well hand to hand, and uses his powers to predict how his opponent is going to move. He normally stays out of combat, so this particular facet of his skills doesn't usually show. The few times we have seen him, he tends to favor swords, much like Yamairo.

Powers:
James is a very powerful mutant with the power to control the minds of others. He's amongst the strongest telepaths in the world, ranking with beings such as Sandra and Zulan

-Telepathy: James is able to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within an unknown radius. When synced with Cerebro, he can connect to every mind on a planet.
--Telepathic Illusion: Ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
--Telepathic Cloak: He can mask his presence from being detected by others. His abilities can at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psychic abilities. He can extend these defenses to others around him as well.
--Psi Link: Ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.
--Telepathic Camouflage: Ability to mask himself, and other peoples' presence from those around him. Can telepathically disguise himself, making his appearance to those around him quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).
--Mind Blast: Ability to place large amounts of information in another's mind.
--Mind Control: Ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration. This power can allow him to completely shut down several peoples' minds, making it appear as if time has stopped.

Developed Attacks:

Sakanade: An easy to use mental attack that leaves James free for actual fighting. It inverts an opponent's sense of direction, creating what James calls "The Inverted World". Up and down, left and right as well as forward and backward are opposite. It is not just the sense of direction that is changed; the opponent's eyesight and where they get cut is reversed as well. James claims that countering the damage from the inverted directions simply by processing it all within the mind is not possible. No matter how powerful the opponent even if one is accustomed to fighting in that particular way, their body will not adapt and will continue to fight by reflex, which causes it to continuously succumb to the powers effect. The reason it's so useful is that only James knows the intricacies of the power, so other telepaths can't counter the illusion by dispelling it.

Bio: James had a normal childhood, with no big events. He always cared a lot about what people though of him, and always wanted to understand peoples motivations. This lead him to follow psychology when he went to college.
One day, while at a class, he started to hear voices, and they just didn't stop coming. He went nuts, and locked himself in his dorm, but the voices wouldn't go away

After Yama meet his future version, he decided to recruit the present James. He meet him, and managed to help him. James proved a quick learner, as the very day he managed to give Milo a hand in the final fight with Zulan.

When the agency attacked, James helped the other has he could, providing telepathic protection to some of them.

He and Harry were the ones that discovered their universe was the same as the marvel one.
In the tournament, he fought and was defeated in the first round by Alex, but manly because of Milo interference, because he was able to subdue Alex with mental control for most of the match. His souls was taken, but was returned in the end of the tournament. He then returned to his dual life and enjoyed it befriending Harry and both went to the same school. He became a major team member often helping out in stealth and rescue operations.

He fought in the Skrull invasion and tried to help Troy after Keel used the penance stare on him. His powers continued to grow and his telepathic skills often helped the group. Recently he helped in the demon invasion and later helped Cyber realize Dave was in trouble.

When the Civil War started, him, Yamairo and Milo joined the government. During his time there he mostly helped interrogate prisoners. Her was greatly shocked by the methods the government used, and only remained because of Yamairo. When Yamairo decided to end the Registration Act, he followed him and helped Yamairo blow up the Sentinel control (although Milo had already done that).
When Legacy attacked he helped the SXM fight them off, and fought with the mutants under Legacy's command while Yamairo and his group fought Hitler.

After this he serves as the information chief of the SXM, using the cerebro to coordinate the different attacks and missions. He has in the meantime developed a psychic bond with the entire team, allowing him to perform these duties without the Cerebro.
He helped coordinate the SXM against the Akatsuki. He was the one that delivered Chiyo's final words to Sasori, that turned out to mean nothing.
When the Predators attacked, he helped coordinate the teams between LA, NY and DC.

After that, he remained a behind the scenes fighter, keeping himself in the side lines and helping direct the team in dire situations. During the legacy virus arc, he was the one that maintain order after Yamairo was infected.
When the Hunters came to attack, he helped defend the mansion. Although he was easily defeated, even after using Sakanade, Filipe managed to rescue him
After that, Nate got him the mind gem, and he used it to cause a world wide Sakanade on the hunters, typing the scale in the humans favor.
After the war, he helped clean up and get everyone's stories straight about each battle and event.

During the events with Jorgan's Dark Reign, James took great and many steps that revealed how truly he had changed. It all started with meeting Carmen Osborn, who at the time was unknown to anyone. He suspected she had a great and many troubles in her past and that gave him a strange sense of pity. During the events with Void that marked the start of Dark Reign, he tried to murder Milo to stop the evil entity, and was only stopped by one second of hesitation allowing the Void to take over. Then, when Jorgan began the HAMMER initiative, James sided with him out of compassion for his daughter Carmen, being completely played by Osborn using his surfacing feelings for her. With the Mind gem under his control he became one of Jorgan's most powerful agents.
However, the gem was lost to Stewart, and James was thus cut greatly in strength. He remained with Osborn until his fall, convincing Carmen to run with him and abandon HAMMER.

After a few other events, James found himself back on the SXM's side, helping them retake Genosha and taking up residence with Carmen in the mansion. He helped coordinate the events of Amber's loss of control, as well as the Council of Gods, again regaining his position as the primary coordinator for the entire team.

After the Magneto take over, Fawkes approached James and gave him both leadership of the X-Force and his position on the Illuminati. James took both positions because he fully understood that the world needed a shadow to protect it. He along with a new team dealt with various issues.
During Fear Itself James was caught in the middle of the Osborn family issues, and stood by Carmen. After his girlfriend was depowered, James tried as best he could to help her deal with the issues.
