Darker than Black

So who here knows Darker than Black?

Fuck awesome anime, nice premises, well animated (it's by the guys that adapted FMA, BONES) and awesome fight scenes.

Also, Justin, the story is a lot like your Mystical Orbs (which, I have been following I must add)

Basically, 10 years ago from the current storyline, 2 areas, one in Brazil and another in Japan, suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and weird phenomenon started happening around those areas, making them inhabitable
Along with those areas, the night sky was replaced by a fake sky filled with fake stars.

Along with these, came individuals know as "contractors", who have special powers. Each contractor is closely related to an individual fake star, so much so that when when they use their powers, their respective star gives off a signal, and even to the extent that when one dies, his star falls with him. Each contractor as to "pay a price" for his powers, things that range from simply eating something, or causing harm to oneself in particular ways
Various organizations, both underground and official, use contractors for assassination, because their know for their lack of emotion and pure rationality.


5 years ago, the area in Brazil, which is know as the Heaven's Gate, disappeared along with a vast area around it, suddenly and without explanation
Current time, the story is set in Tokyo, Japan, where the other area, the Hell's Gate, is located.
We follow the tale of a contractor know as Hei, who works for a mysterious syndicate, as their top assassin, the "Black Reaper" as he uncovers the mysteries behind the Gate and the events of 5 years ago.

That's the story I guess. I recommend this. Also, it has a very good English dub, so people that don't particularly like subs need only look for a good dual audio rip. There's both Blue-Ray and DVD rips in dual audio.

Sounds cool.

It's got awesome action, a fictional/superpower setting and it's got a good English dub which means you wont have to listen to bad voice acting.

Plus the fact it's so similar to Mystical Orbs

There's 2 seasons, season 1 and season 2 (Gemini of the Meteor) plus an OVA series that tells the story that happened between both seasons (so far, only 2 have been released and the 3rd is set to be released on May 26th)

Sounds like the type of anime I'd enjoy. I'll give it a shot, after I watch the newest FMA Brotherhood.

I would like to see more of that.. they should convert the whole manga into animated series.. that awesome anime does not deserve to be incomplete!

anime series is the original. There isn't a manga.

It's an original work by bones...which kinda explain some stuff about season 2 (seriously, season 2 <<<<<<<<<<<<<< season 1)

there's no manga??? i did not knew that... then its fine... of course they will finish the story!!! why start something and then not finish it...right? i really hope so!

Because season 2 sucked and the fans showed it, and now a days Japan only likes le moe and le cutesy so getting an actually plot in an anime is not good marketing

i agree that the first season was better... but i also liked the second one!

those are bad news...damn... i really liked this anime!!

You searched a dubb on youtube but didn't find anything you must've never searched hard enough because the Dubbing company Funimation put out a dub on there channel.

I don't download much, a bit of music, but only enough to burn of a CD, then I wipe all music clean from my computer again.

And besides, youtube has a very good quality streaming of Darker than black.

I download because if I want to sit down and really watch animation, the better the quality, the better the experience.

Anime isn't just about the plot, especially in a series with action like DtB

And besides, you'd get a full dual audio H264 with subs by BSS, which do a fucking excellent job, better than most funi subs. Worth keeping and not deleting after.

Anyway, this is me. I watch FMA: B on Youtube as well, but I'll download it later

First off, I don't care about subs, I watch all dubbed anyways.

Secondly, most shows I can get anywhere from decent to good quality streaming, and as I've said, with using the link provided in this topic, DTB has a very good quality, it's pretty much the same as watching a T.V.

So why bother with downloading, I just don't see the point.

Besides, I have no downloading program on this laptop anyway. I uses one site for downloading, and that site converts youtube videos to mp3 files (or audio files) and downloads them. (That's where I get my music, from youtube. ) It has no video download option however.

Just know that streams on youtube just recently got 720p, and the video encoding is still nothing like H264.
