Dragon Ball movie's concept art

Narrator: His latest project has entered a whole new realm of difficult creativity, It involves the diversion of the reality of the dragonball series. His ambition was to give the characters a “new look” than in the manga, while still keeping the spirit of it in tact.

Jonay: This is one of those projects where the artist already has a reference to look off of; my job was not as big as that of say, the producer, because I already had a reference to expand from. To tell you the truth, It was really complicated, we had so much work to do to redesign every character to get them to where they’re at now.

Well, Jonay. You accomplished the first half of your goal of giving a "new look", but failed miserably on the second part of that goal.

I agree that color is an important just like everything else... But what is color without a shape? - nothing for me!
I'll give you one example:

shape + color:

I'd give - 10000000000/10

shape + no color:

I'd give - 9999999999/10


No shape + color(not literally "no shape" ):

I'd give - huh???/10

So if they screw up Piccolo's look, he can have exact color like in anime but it will SUUUUUCKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw in the movie its Lord Piccolo and my example is Piccolo Junior but anyway, the point is the same.
