Superman Shadow of Apokalips and Jackie Chan Adventures!
So as you know, I've been collecting a few more games for my beloved PS2 to play on after I was done with the PS3 for the year. Well, Cross Edge failed utterly to keep my attention, so I set up my PS2 and started playing the four games I collected!
First up was Jackie Chan Adventures;
The best thing about this game are the backgrounds, they look SO much like the show! You know, that rushed style? Yeah that one! The gameplay was very slow, especially during combat for a JC game. For example, you throw punches and Jackie simply stands still whilst throwing the first 2 slooooooooooow punches... But other than that, I actually enjoyed it from what I played! The voice actors (mostly) from the show reprise their roles. The graphics of the characters are ugly as hell however (Jade looks like a friggin' deformed alien or something). You can also use the 12 Talismans and cycle through any one of them (that you've obtained) on the go! All in all, this game has potential and will likely get better as I continue playing it!
Next up was Superman Shadow of Apokalips;
What can I say, this game is.................... GREAT!!! Seriously, I had no idea it was gonna be this good. Sure its not got the best controls in the world and the free roaming coulda been much much better, but it's really good! The flight controls work immensly well, I would often forget the mission at hand and just fly around. The city of Metropolis is HUGE. Its just too bad you have a timed free roam time. The graphics are excellently excellent! It literally looks just like the show! I particularly like how they animated Supes' cape during gameplay. Oh and you can use Superman's poweeeerrrrrs...! Freeze Breath, Eye Beams, Super Speed (called 'Speeding Bullet', clever!) and more! I short, if you have any love for the Man of Steel, you have to at least try this game out! I got it pre-owned for only £2.50 - A f**king steal if you ask me!
Next up, two more Playstation 2 games:
- X-Men Origins Wolverine
- X-Men the Official Game
