This happens in a far future. Humans live underground because of a threat now as the beastmen, that pilot giant robots named Ganmen.
The story tell the tale of a young boy named Simon, that found a strange artifact shaped like a drill.
Later, he tried to help is "bro" Kamina escape the underground village, but got busted. After he went back to digging, he found a giant face, and went back to show his bro. Before he could, a giant robot (the Ganmen) burst through the roof of the village, and attacked them. A woman named Yoko came after the beast. After some fighting, Simon took both Kamina and Yoko to the big face, that turned out to be a mini Ganmen, operated by the drill like object. They used it to defeat the other Ganmen, and flee the village.
The show is SO FUCKING GAAAAAAAR!
A must see for ALL anime fans.
