Budokai vs Tenkaichi.
So how many people here a Budokai fans and how many are Tenkaichi fans?
I'm all for Tenkaichi personally. BT3 being the current best with a shit load of characters, plenty of stages, transformations, fusions (THAT DON'T RELY ON A FUCKING TIME LIMIT, SCREW YOU BUDOKAI) and easy controls (Though Budokai is anything but complex)
Still, I find Tenkaichi more fun, always have.

BT3 for the win. Although, they should have made the storymode longer to so that all characters will play a part. (not really sure, did tamborine fight? how about pilaf? roshi? cui? ampule?)
But still, I believe BT3 brings out the real dbz feeling of the Dragon dash, instant tramission attacks, etc.. In fact, I havnt finished the 100 battle mode. (was it 100?)

Re: Budokai vs Tenkaichi.
I love them both, they are awesome in their own way, but I like Budokai more, I play it since long time ago, its nostalgic and awesome game in general.
Its a bit more fast paced than Tenkaichi IMO, with all the teleports/counterteleports, blocks, evasions etc...It was much more fast paced than Tenkaichi until Tenkaichi 3 which brought those elements in and was an AWESOME game. But still I prefer Budokai, particularly Budokai 3 maybe just because of that nostalgic element
I still haven't played Infinite World from which I expect sooo much, but I hope I will get it soon.
All in all both Budokai and Tenkaichi series are truly epic to me!

- Spoiler:
- Burst Limit also looks super epic, it looks like totally crazy and even faster game with an awesome faithful DBZ design, but I don't have a PS3 so I don't know when exactly I'll play it more than few minutes Although one really disappointing thing in Burst Limit is that there is no charging :S
I also have to try Raging Blast, but for some reason I don't think I'll like it as much as Burst Limit.

Nah, according to Nikku Burst Limit was disappointing.
I think there's a review on Raging Blast from both of us in the video game section

Re: Budokai vs Tenkaichi.
Alright! Here we go, time to disect these two series!!
*Cracks knuckles*
Owie...
Anyways, first up, Budokai!
From the minute I started playing the first Budokai game, I loved it. I was young at the time and easily impressed and amused by lots of things things. Budokai 2 was even better and was my fav DBZ game for years. I literally screamed "WOW!!!!" when I did an in game Fusion for the first time. The graphics were gorgeous, it was my first ever cel shaded game! Budokai 3, I didn't like as much as B2 for some reason, but I still love it! All the new gameplay features were nice, except Hyper Mode and Dragon Rush, thankfully they only lasted one game!
Budokai Pros and Cons;
+ Great gameplay
+ Graphics!
+ Levelling Up system of B3 was great
+ You never forget your first in game fusion!
+ Good ki system
+ B1's cutscenes
+ B3's free roaming story mode
- Cancel combos could be really difficult
- The Kid Buu of B2's story mode...!
- Dragon Rush
- Hyper Mode
- B2's board game story mode was a big WTF!? moment
- Cutscenes after B1 were nonexistent.
Then in 2005 came the Sparking series, The first game was garbage. This was noticeable only after BT2 came out. Every character played exactly the same, every character had 1 combo each (Square x5 then X), the difficulty could be muder, the cutscenes were the lamest of the lame etc... it even had recycled Budokai music that played randomly on each stage!! Then Spike made BT2 and it became my favorite DBZ game. I don't know what happened, but Spike made a shit game, then just one year later crafted a beautiful one. Characters had way more moves, they played differently, the soundtrack was original and fantastic, the stages were much bigger. In short, it was such a huge leap forward and it showed. Then BT3 came out which I viewed as a disappointment; the lock on/off was ruined, the returning stages recieved no changes, the way to link combos was changed, the difficulty could be really unfair, the new soundtrack sucked, the story mode was shortened so much it was a joke, in short, it was a real disappointment for me. It did have some redeeming qualities though, the new stages were huge, there were multiple characters and versions of characters, etc.
Budokai Tenkaichi series pros and cons;
+ Loads a characters!
+ Free Roam for the first two games!
+ BT2's gameplay was so pick up and play friendly
+ BT2 was the biggest leap forward in a game series I've ever seen
+ Multiple versions of characters
+ Graphics looked more like the show than Budokai's
- First game was horrible and resembled a beta game
- Third game ruined the lock on
- Third game had auto taunt that resulted in you taking major damage
- Lame replay feature in BT3 that only recorded a few minutes of a fight before freezing.
- Cutscenes (except for a certain few in BT2) were lame as hell
- Characters never changed their facial expressions
So all in all, I think I love them both the same, with BT2 *just* coming out on top.

Re: Budokai vs Tenkaichi.
Sorry, but I never saw how BT3 was a disappointment. It was because people expected the same jump as BT2...but for the love of Kami, you can't expect them to get MUCH better than BT2...at least as better as BT2 was in comparison to BT
When it came down to selling either BT2 or BT3 when I needed the money, I sold BT2 simply because I felt BT3 was better.

Re: Budokai vs Tenkaichi.
I agree.
I own BT1, 2, & 3. I honestly haven't played 1 or 2 for I have no idea how long, 3 is just the best choice.
And for the taunt thing, I never understood why that bothers people. I mean who stands around that long. I'm always moving, attack, charging ki/attacks, etc. I also don't understand the complaints on the lock on either.
