Alright, here's the deal. My dad is being a bit of a bitch. He now seems to have developed some sort of paranoia that I'm not caring about college and that I wont get in and such. He also nags me about how I go to bed very late (this part I admit I've been slipping)

Anyway, all this to say, if I suddenly stop coming online, by dad cut the net. Sorry. I don't know if he'll follow through but he just might.

It's true, but his paranoia is unjustified. I mean, my grades are what I need for the area I want, and I've already take care of most stuff. I don't see why he's getting so worked up. Besides, it's not just that he's nagging me. He's had a heart attack in the past. He can't get so worked up over these little things.

Wow that reminds me of my dad I could go offline at any minute.

I agree with Sephi, I think he's doing it all for your best and once you show him reasonableness and understanding, he'll return you back maybe. Its always a nice idea to sit down and talk with parents and say - ok I do admit I do a lot of this, this, that and that...BUT I want to go to collage I don't have any bad intentions and explain him everything honestly.

Just try to find a compromise, in the end you'll realize that parents are not that much heavy people to talk with(unless your mother is like mine AKA a living incarnation of Chi Chi )
Hey, you can always show this place and these posts to your father if you want in case he suspects that internet is generally a bad place...Show him that being on the internet includes discussion with people like us, having fun, meeting new people, introducing friends, learning A LOT more than almost anywhere else(incomparably more than in school, sorry mom but that's fact ), whenever/whatever you want...and most importantly being our friend, being welcomed here always and getting help if you need it, feel free to tell him that we are all friends here

But on the other hand give your best to be as good as you can and still live nicely and relaxed

Point is, I study enough. He just doesn't seem to ever be satisfied.

^Yep, we are definitely some cousins just like my mother no matter how much you learn or how high grades you have she's never satisfied

Well my friend..you know, parents are like kids...they'll stop crying only when they have a proof that everything is alright...
I honestly think you should try to simply prove him that you're not the only one on the internet and that many of us here have or had a hard time making compromises with our parents but still we're all good and morally healthy people and in the end that's all that matters

My dad used to do that...he'd come to my school if i got a C and bother my guidance counselor.
