Jamie Chung Talks About Chi Chi
It’s a very strong young female role, and her name is Chi Chi,” Chung said in in an interview at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, where she was promoting her new ABC Family show Samurai Girl, in Beverly Hills, Calif., last week.
Dragonball–which also stars Emmy Rossum, James Marsters, Chow Yun-Fat and Ernie Hudson–follows a boy named Goku (Justin Chatwin) who tries to fulfill his grandfather’s dying request to find a great master and gather seven Dragon Balls to prevent an alien’s rise to power. The movie is based on the anime series Dragon Ball Z.
“We’ve finished filming,” Chung said. “The martial-arts aspect of the character [is the same as the Samurai Girl character Heaven], but Heaven is something real special. … Chi Chi was a fun character to play, and … it’s also a very strong young female, but Heaven has a completely different [backstory] behind her that makes things so much more interesting.

My comment: Why would I ever believe to a girl that never even heard for DB before this role...She can say that Chi Chi was a fun character to play, but what else do you expect, to say "IT WAS BAD!!!"...She was having a fun about something that she even don't know what it is, and we which love and are loyal to DB through the years are suffering while watch her raping our childhoods and destroying our psyche...yet she probably never asked herself "is this right what I'm doing?" which is btw not HER foult of course, but the fault of film industry(Hollywood) which educated them all that way...like - "just do what are you told to do, get your money, and don't care for anything else, be a robot"

Re: Jamie Chung Talks About Chi Chi
She sounds like she could care less about the role of Chi Chi and that this stupid Samurai girl is better.

I posted a hi-res version of that poster on my blog. It's also on dbthemovie.com and dragonballmovieblog.com if you want to replace the blurry one with it.

Re: Jamie Chung Talks About Chi Chi
^Exactly!
You can't put some photo model to act some skilled, strong fast and agile Asian samurai girl...Especially not Chi Chi who's have unreal strength and unreal martial arts skills for a girl...
But the most important - she does not look like Chi Chi...it all ends there...I mean you can't transfer those big eyes and that crazy personality and the shape of the face to the live action...it just loses that original DB feel...
