Finally - PETITION!!!

Hey thank you Son Goku very much! I really appreciate it, but there is a problem, you've changed the old version of it
Can you help us with this latest version since english is your national language

Because we all woked hard to make this one and we already agreed with this one, so we want it to stay that way(and especially I like the way we did this final version, because I really think we said everything + we wre quite formal and polite), but it needs just some grammar/spelling corrections if there are any errors...

So, the new version is up there, first post, we always update it ^^

Well, Mau, Yagami and I concluded that it is generally OK, and it does not have errors for now.

But when trailer comes out, I'll try to gather us three again and we should then just add a sentence like - "For all we just said, there is one perfect proof - Trailer." or something similar...
But maybe we add something more or we change something...

Anyway we need just to wait a few days from now...

Maybe not stg like that... It's too... how to say... Not childish, but, maybe as inapropriate for serious petition to add to it stg like ''hey, your trailer is crap''... Add something more official, ''mature'', stg that will REALY get to them... Think before you act...

You need to mention specifically that the casting is racist. They need to know that taking a role away from an Asian actor and giving it to a white, while the roles of Asians in the cast are all negative stereotypes, is something that consumers with the slightest sense of justice will not tolerate.

Well I kinda agree with you, you may be absolutely right, but I think that petition is already somewhat offensive, and I don't want to tell something for which I am not sure and for which I don't have arguments...

Actually to me asian will be also bad choice because Goku is alien, he's an a Saiyan! and DB is world for himself, and DB should never be LAM.... Actually if Japanese would do it, it would be somewhat acceptable to me....especially if they would do it all in 3D, than I'd be happy in fact, though I'd be afraid off screw-ups because, jsut like mystangel said - every adaptation brings the chance of screw ups, and I 100% agree.

But hey...today the Trailer should come out, so we'll all see against what kind of mess we're fighting against...

I know the petition is already done, but if I made one, it could probably go like this:

Dear people of Fox:

We the public have noticed your interest in making a live action film of Dragon Ball; at first some of us loved the idea of seeing this loved story into the big screen.

However, after seeing the drastic alterations given to the final work it has just nothing to do with the work on which it is based. It is a lack of respect to Mr. Akira Toriyama, the people of Japan and all fans of Dragon Ball.

That is why we ask of you to please cancel the release of this movie; as it will bring nothing but negative aspects. If not, then we will boycott massively this film, as you will not gain a single cent from the fan audience.

Please hear us for the good of your company. Thank you for your time.

^Hmmm, it's nice of you, being easy and nice towards Fox, and suggesting all that... But you know... petition must put a little pressure, it must attract the most "pissed off-s" like my self, and in the same time it must attract those who are just against making LAM of any anime or cartoon, and nothing else...
(I was actually thinking about mentioning of X-Men serial, and many other ruined serials, so that we can cure their pain! at least in some way... + it will help us pretty much)

And I don't say your text is not good, is nice actually, but for example I never agree, because I was ALWAYS against LAM, long away from 2003 when someone mentioned the idea first time... And also there are many of DB fans who thinkj the same, so it will not attract them...

I know it our petition sounds a litle bit harsh, but it like it says "maintaining a level of courtesy and politeness." so we didn't insult anyone personally, we just say that this movie is disaster for us fans and it must stop.
And we all must agree in that, that's the point ^^

id love them to cancel this and start over with new writers (ben ramsey sucks so much @$$) a new cast and everything. they need to set this story in its own universe like in the narnia or lord of the rings series and not try to merge it with real life. there should be no schools!! and there needs to be talking animals. it worked in narnia because it was its own universe so talking animals fit right in. HOWEVER they have already shot the entire film and started on post production, so they have already spent a TON of money on this. there is no way they would cancel it now. even if it went straight to dvd they would try to make money off it some how. i wish the petition would help but im afraid at this point its too late...

I agree with you that it should be as Narnia and LOTR, but even if the petition to stop the movie does not work, we will boycott it and show that way our anger at FOX.

I respect your opinion, and I agree, but you see fox is fox and they don't care for fans nor anything like it... like I said in the petition - they are BUSINESSMEN not the artists...
