Dunno if anyone is interested in this, but one of the major GAINAX members has left to form a new animation studio called Trigger. He took two other big names...which I dunno exactly who

Hiroyuki Imaishi, the guy that directed Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one of them. He began work with GAINAX as a key animator for Eva. He isn't part of the alumni, but he's a big name in GAINAX, I'd probably argue the biggest after Anno and Sadamoto

Hideaki Anno, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Hiroyuki Yamaga, Takami Akai, Toshio Okada, Yasuhiro Takeda, and Shinji Higuchi are the original GAINAX alumni

I dunno if you know, but currently, only Takeda and Higuchi still work for GAINAX directly

It makes me kind of sad, but happy as well. Their talents are such I would gladly give each of them all the money they could ask for so they could have awesome ratings battles every single anime season. But unfortunately, Japan doesn't work like that and I hope both Trigger and GAINAX manages to stay afloat and not die. It'd be a great loss either way, but especially if a name like GAINAX dies.

I don't worry about Anno because he has Eva merch to sustain Khara...the little maniac depressive bastid xD
