Naruto

Anyone else hate it? It just seems so childish and stupid... Why the hell is it so popular in the first place?!

If you have seen the US version, then indeed it is childish to the point there are even 16 year old girls cosplaying as Naruto. I am not much of a Naruto fan, but I love Hinata.

Agreed, I find Bleach to be waaaay better than Naruto because I just hate the character designs for Naruto.

I like Naruto style ...and designs for Naruto and Bleach are very similar

btw... small advice, if you dont like it, dont watch it

Naruto and Bleach sure have that same feeling of classic "new school" anime(and thats actually what I dislike most in them)
But Bleach is different, Bleach characters are much better designed IMO.

Naruto, I never liked it at all, from the same reason mentioned above, to me it looks like just another new school anime of millions of new school animes in this world and thats not an art for me, just some story that happen to have animation which is recycled over and over and over again, million times...So for those who actually like that style, I'm sure they will enjoy watching majority of the anime titles, since there are soooo many animes which look like that, but people like me who rather like styles of DB/Z, Street Fighter, Bastard, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D and such animes, will only enjoy in them.

Now people will tell me what they always say - but the visual look is not everything!! and I'll again say what I always say - Definitely not everything, of course, but certainly the primary attribute of the MULTIMEDIA called ANIME...if it wasn't important they would simply made a book, not anime/manga.

So who likes Naruto, let him like it, thats great, I am glad for them, but I can't like something that I dislike by its feel and atmosphere.

P.S. Naruto being childish is actually the last thing that could bother me...I love Digimons very much for example

'Bout Naruto... Anime Naruto fails as much as DBLAM... But Manga is diff story... It rocks! Storyline is great, battles are great, anything is great...

But Anime sux... I said it... Well, I will say it again... It SUX! T'has fillers, stupid translation to Eng, and Voice act is mega bad...

Jap version of Anime has better Voice act, and is interesting, cuz it is... well... Raw...

You can't expect for someone to love Anime if you watch it censored, and story filled with made-up story that has nothing in common with Manga...


But I understand people that don't like it...

I wached it in japanese but over youtube. I liked it and still do. I like it probably moustly becouse of the atmosphere and the music. The fillers didn't bother me mych. (If you don't like them skip them, and the problem is solved.)
Bleach fillers are something different. They make no sense (Same as the movies.). Every day there is someone new who wants to destroy Seretei, and again some girl is in trouble and again the saviour is Ichigo....
They are no top animes but they are not nearly as bad as many ecchi animes that are released lately.

You talk about recycled animation in new animes... It was present also in the old animes. Examples: Berserk, Evangelion, DBZ... In some more and in some less.

some of the naruto fillers were pretty damn funny though, the one about kakashi's mask and Laughing shino made me laugh until my stomach hurt. Otherwise, the fillers are crapppy.

Bleach...I want to watch it, but I can't bring myself to watch an anime unless I see it from the first episode...maybe now that i have a laptop I can watch it onling...but I wanna start watching Higurashi (heh kinda a surprising anime choice for me...but it looks cool!) online so I prolly won't have time for bleach x D same situation for me with FMA.

What hinders you to watch it from the beggining? I reccomend that you watch it from beggining.
If you can't then watch Higurashi (and the sequel) and/or FMA. They are great.

Higurashi with its sequel (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai) has thereabout the same number of episodes as FMA (I didn't include the movie, ova and the incoming sequel of FMA).

lol if I get a chance...I have like a bazillion game I wanna play, youtube vids to watch, people to chat with, brothers to annoy, school...well no school now but after break

About Naruto Manga, I haven't read it but I doubt it would be any different from anime to me. Matter of tastes :/

But I am sure that those who like it will enjoy it pretty much cause there are many episodes/chapters and there are still many to come I guess

With your teory we could say that Toryama stole the story of the monkey king, supermans abilityes or some details from history. But of course he didn't. He was just inspired/influenced by them (Ok...the superman thing was a copy but who cares... ).
The similarities are so small that they are insignificant (If there are any.).

I always when I read someone saying that something sucks I tell him to say his reasons he thinks like that.
If he doesn't do that I'll ignore his post as anyone normal would do. Then I find a good anime review(s) and read it and then build my opinion.

I don't think DBZ is copied by Superman at all...there are hell lot more novels with aliens that came to earth and saved it even before superman...

But Naruto is OF COURSE not copying thats the point...I mean seriously I don't see ANY resemblance...
And like I said - telling that Naruto is very similar to DB because Naruto wears the orange GI like Goku and likes to eat is like saying that I am influenced by spiderman cause I certainly have half-red-half-blue t-shirt on me...
I mean c'mon...some things are obvious...

For example Sonic the Hedgehog is pretty much influenced by DBZ, his eyes shape and cornea position reminds of DBZ eyes, he is all spiky...and his Super Sonic transformation is clearly kinda tribute to DBZ(and thats ok since creators point that out themselves and don't confute it, and thats actually the difference between INFLUENCE and RIP OFF).
Just as Akira Toryiama always point out that Goku is clearly influenced by the Sun Wukong, the monkey king from Chinese novel Journey To The West.

Also n the Toryama's manga Dr. Slump there is a a character very simmilar to superman. Ofcoure that's not copying. Thats parody.

...ok I've seen almost every episode of Naruto (in english so far), I do not see any similarity to DBZ...'sides for a blonde main character who wears orange...
