Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
I already have tickets to go see it Saturday.
I cannot fucking wait. My only regret is that the second part is only in July. Complete milking move to make this last longer. They should release it as close to each other as possible

Re: Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
FUCK YES!
Hands down best shit they've done of the series so far.
In my view, they just let out one major thing (Remus and Harry's fight) but everything else was hands down awesome.
I manly teared when Hedwig...her death was awesome how they did it (she died shielding Harry from an Avada Kedavra, and before that she even tackled the pursuing death eater)
;_; I actually though she'd live when Harry let her go before the chase started
I manly teared right there
They did do a LOT of stuff. They finished right after the Malfoy manor
Man a girl behind me lost it completely with Dobby...I teared up to obviously, but this girl was letting out tears and sobs like crazy. Dobby had a badass death mind you
Anyway, in total, I'll give this film an 8/10. They added very little, and what they did were good touches. And the things they removed, the only thing that really mattered was Remus's fight with Harry
This is the highest score I've ever given an HP film mind you. Prisoner of Azkaban was a 7 for me

Re: Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
yea, it's cool how the films and books get more mature. They were both basically released approximately 1 every year or two, and I started reading/watching when I was 9, so It's like the books/movies mature with you, ya know?

Re: Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
"Hallows: Part I" is many parts thrilling, as there are quite a number of intense action sequences. Many of them, of course, are done with well-rendered visual effects, and in this one they just blend in at a natural level without being too jarring. However, the action sequences are perfectly blended in with the gripping, dramatic moments. They don't feel heavy handed and it's beautiful to look at. The animated sequence about the origins of the Deathly Hallows is an absolute masterclass and jaw-droppingly beautiful to both watch and listen. If separated by itself it can win an Oscar for best animated short.

Re: Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
I've never been a huge fan of Harry Potter movies, and I never read the books(cause I am simply to lazy to read books, and also was never too interested in a shear story itself), but some friends of mine who are fans of Harry Potter serial of books, usually criticize the movie by saying it doesn't follow the book totally well, but are generally ok with it.
Now, like I said many times, I guess that book adaptations are much easier to make, and are usually not that much butchering its source material. You don't have the ABSOLUTELY EXACT look of characters and world described, you don't have a drawing style in books, nor sounds etc so you have less things to ruin, but something like anime, cartoon, manga and such which has its visual side can be spoiled and lose its entire feel and atmosphere right at the beginning with simply changing it to live action and losing its art style.
However the bad thing about book adaptations is that everybody has its own pictures imagined in his head while reading the book, so no matter how much effort somebody put in the adaptation of it, there is always going to be ton of fans who viewed it all differently and are going to dislike it.
If that fact that everybody views it differently when reading a book is the whole point of books as many say it is, then any visual/audio adaptations of books shouldn't be ever made IMO, then books lose their point right? But if its not, then bring the original creator and ask him how HE imagined it all.
So I don't want to judge this movie too much, I just hope they at least do it decent and make it follow the darn story, so at least my friends don't get upset, if not impressed

Re: Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hollows
I think most people agree that they did a great job at capturing everyone's image of the books in their head. In fact, after seeing the first movie, it really really made it easier and more fun to read and visualize the later books, even before their movies came out.
