LG VS Sony.

Looks like Sony has dug themselves into a hole.

From Mystic forms - LG is suing Sony because they believe that the Sony Playstation 3 Blu-Ray Drive infringes on its patent and they want it banned in the U.S.

There was word on this spread around on Gamefaqs for a while to, some people even gave links to other sites. But I can't find them now.

From what I can gather, a few months back Sony attempted to sue LG I think over similar matters, regarding either use of Blu-Ray or something over their TV's. Whatever it was, Sony failed at it. Now in return, LG is trying to take action against Sony. It was bad enough Sony's Playstation was getting beaten in sales by Microsoft's XBOX, and Sony had been having trouble with hackers, going to war against them. Now they are going head to head with other company's.

In the end though, nobody expects nothing much to come of this. And PS3 actually getting banned is slim, to no chance. But, may as well join the party and spread the word.

To correct myself. Sony went after LG on mobile phone infringement. Now LG is going after the Sony Blu-Ray players (including PS3) and TV's due to infringement.

Update.

LG has apparent won round 1. All PS3's in the UK and Europe are under a 10 day ban, USA is yet to be effected. All incoming shipments to Europe or UK are being seized by customs officers.

Sony is is desperately trying to fight it, but LG not only wants to extend the length of the ban, but wants to extend it into the US as well.


Sony has dug themselves into a big hole when they starting this whole thing trying to sue LG over their smart phones. This is just another result of quite a list of business blunders Sony has made this gen.


Imagine if LG actually wins, and Sony has to drop out of the console marker?

Anyway, this still might be a simple grudge match between the two company's. I don't see any sign of PS3 actually going anywhere yet.

I don't know I like both Sony and LG devices a lot, I hope these two awesome companies, respectively from Japan and Korea, can solve things a nice way :/
I don't really believe Sony infringe LG's patent, and its probably just a confusion, but if it did, then they got to be sued :/ We got to be fair.

Sony is fighting back.

The case isn't over, but Sony has managed to get all the seized PS3's back on to the market.

Lol at LG's faggotry. Inferior company and now trying to mess with the one with the better products.

Although Sony was stupid in trying to hurt LG where they're the better company anyway

Sony all the way, and right now we need to buy japanese products more than ever in order to help them recover.
