FOX admits they had low expectations

"Fox's "Dragonball: Evolution," managed only No. 8 in its domestic debut, grossing an estimated $4.7 million from 2,181 theaters. Studio had limited expectations for the film, which was narrowly targeted to boys.

Fantasy adventure saw more business overseas, grossing $10.6 million at 4,500 in 35 markets for a foreign cume of $37 million, led by China with $8.4 million. (Pic opened abroad first.) Weekend tally was led by Spain at $2 million and Italy at $1.3 million. Worldwide cume is $41.7 million."

Thanx god they're admitting it, or perhaps somebody said that in their name...

But I don't like the fact that is also released here in Europe DAMN IT! It says "Worldwide cme is $41.7 million."

And man 41.7$ million is not good at all Sad

its close to 45$ I pray that their original budget was 100$ or better yet 120$ like Chatwin stated in his latest interview....that would mean NO SEQUELS PEOPLE! Very Happy

But surely this

Fox told Variety it met the studios low expectations, and considering they did a horrible job promoting the movie, that’s not surprising.

from dbthemovie.com made it even better for us.

Therefore still keep it up people and wait until their official word on sequels!

Jesus... 41 millions??? affraid

well, the japanese and the chinese at the beggining did not known that the movie would be TOTALLY different from the anime\manga...LOL!!! The americans already knew it (after seeing the asian critics)... if the movie premiered first in America, they would have made more money at the domestic debut, and less money in the foreign theaters!!

Also i really think the movie only had 45 millions in the budgett!! the special effects were nothing special...lol... and most part of the money were for paying the actors and the producer team (and they did an horrible job lol!
