A manga/anime convetion!! In the UK!? Such a thing is unheard of!!! Somebody just pointed it out to me in a local newspaper! A massive picture of Ed Elric and the words "MANGA CONVENTION"!! There's gonna be cosplay, and stalls and stuff. There's even a manga art contest, I'm gonna enter it!
Man... I can't believe there's a convention like this that I can actually get to...! It says in the paper that it was held for the first time last year, I was completely unaware of it! This will be the second one held. If I'd have known there was a convention like this, I'd have probably bought a cosplay costume!

Hey that's awesome, I am glad to hear that! 
those conventions are really nice place to meet many new and interesting people.
I also wanted to go to the "Japanism" anime/manga/japanese culture convention last year but I was stopped unfortunately due to few obligations.
I believe that was the first real official anime/manga/japanese culture convention here in my country, so we're in the similar situation
People who organized that are actually our affiliates(fourth logo in "Affiliates & Friends" panel, its called BG-Anime) they are really awesome community who is really growing in our country every year. I hope it will be even better in UK as UK is much bigger country, more people, therefore more interests etc...

I was in a little costume contest once. I won $50 because the competition consisted of people in street clothes wearing Scream masks while I was in my elaborate Sith Lord costume, lol.

i wanna got ot one so bad to one time i went to baltimore to go to a aquarium and when we were driving in i saw axel and was like wtf then i found out there was a con and just standing in the mall seeing sailor venus and cloud and kakashi walk by was the shit
