Just did Evangelion (up to EoE)
Seriously, this damned series is so fucking win it hurts.
And imagine if it had a decent budget! Oh wait, Rebuild!!
Nah, but rebuild, you watch for the mecha fights
The fight vs Ramiel in 1.0 (Ramiel is the 4th Angel, the one that looked like a prism and fired that super ray, and tried to dig into the GeoFront was so fucking awesome in Rebuild!
Heck, Ramiel himself was awesome!

I think you'll like Rebuild
Rei gets like...shit tons of importance, although the kuudere factor is largely different. She shows MUCH more emotion
Asuka also shows a much more vulnerable side to her, that we don't see in the TV series until it's too late for either Shinji or anyone else to help her with
She's still alive, so here's hoping that Shinji helps her out. Rei is largely now showed an improvement in character, and if Shinji burning off his fucking skin to get her out of the Angel in 2.0 isn't enough to get her to understand she isn't a puppet and that people care about her...I don't know what is

Yeah, Rei is my all time favorite Evangelion girl! I hate the new girl since even her name places in evidence she is a Mary Sue.

I loved Rebuild.... It was epic!! But i would prefer series remake instead of making new movies!! in an anime series, characters are much more explored!!

I didn't think they could ever present Eva as they did back then. It wouldn't be successful
Anno himself said Rebuild is a dimmed out version.
I swear to god though, if Asuka doesn't get her past explained in the next movie I will find Anno and hit him with a stick! Damn troll...
And I'm going to tell you exactly what is the objective of Mari so far (this is assuming her character stays as she is)
She is fanservice incarnate...

Well she gives me no service. It would had been better if Touji had been a pilot earlier; or if they needed another girl, it should had been Hikari, or already the Touji-Hikari-Kensuke trio.

Lack of Hikari is kinda disappoint yes, but having Asuka has the pilot made the scene a bit more emotional. Plus Shogoki crushing the entry plug with it's mouth instead of arm was nicely done.
Also, I got the "stepmother attacking the girlfriend" feel from that scene...you know, cause Shogoki has Yui's soul in it...get it? XD
But if she dies...I will be pissed. They need to explore her character more
Also, I've been thinking. Asuka probably changed her name herself. She has mother issues and abandonment issues, so saying she changed her name (Soryu was her mother's name) isn't a stretch.

That's what everyone says because most people enjoy the giant robot fights
If you look at this anime like you do, for example, things like Lain, you'll see it's nothing of the sort. The mecha battles are just a means to an end, and this case, the end is the phychological analysis of the characters, with emphasis on Shinji, Asuka and Rei II (because Rei III was no longer a character but a plot device to engage instrumentality)
This said, the giant robot battles are awesome, but if you want that, watch Rebuild because OMG FUCKING NEXT GEN GRAPHICS!!
