So my Haruhi vol. 1 manga finally arrived...

Took long enough. Although it was listed as being "brand new", there is a very noticable crease and bend on one of the cover's edges. Very unhappy about that. Now for the content itself.

I'm not enjoying it!!!!!

I don't know whats happening; I love the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, its one of my favorite animes!! But this manga... I found myself struggling to finish just one page last night and eventually had to just slot in a book mark (well, a Yu-Gi-Oh! card). I've NEVER had to put a bookmark into a manga before...

The pages are a bit of a mess too. At times, the speech bubbles aren't even showing you which character is saying it. And the artwork is messy and surprisingly amateurish. Sometimes I can't tell which character is which. Don't be fooled by the nice looking front cover, the inside of the book is a real shame. Its a real shame too; the first few pages are in full vibrant color and are drawn quite well, maybe not up to the standard of the anime, but still good. But when the color vanishes after about 3 pages, so does the artwork quality. I was surprised to find that almost every single page uses the super deforming style. And not very well either.

Its such a shame because Suzumiya is actually in my top 10 favorite anime. I'm just glad I didn't pay £8.50 for this manga. I don't think I'll be picking up vol. 2 of the manga. I'll just stick to the anime thank you very much.

If you're going to by anything from Haruhi on paper might as well get the Light Novels Nikku

Manga is a horrible adaptation of the Novels.
Anime is good...if we ignore Endless 8...no seriously fuck Endless 8 and fuck kyoani for creating that abomination.

And I've just done some research on this mysterious Endless Eight thingie (which I've literally just heard of from you) and it sounds pretty... I dunno... sounds like it drags on. Its not like Haruhi to do that...
