An extremely unfortunate and embarrassing incident has erupted involving The Last Airbender Happy Meal toys—this week, over 5000 Happy Meals supposed to contain these pieces of Airbender merchandise were accidentally mixed up with a shipment of condoms, which were supposed to be distributed for the Provincetown, Mass. school system for students of all ages. McDonald's vice president of public relations, Robin Anderson, made a public statement about the event, explaining, "They were so bright and colorful, they were mistaken for Happy Meal toys. Unfortunately most of the workers there don't read English, and they thought 'Ribbed Latex' was a character from The Last Airbender."

Reports CAP News, "The mistake led to an incident in a Brewster, Mass., McDonald's, where more than a dozen 8-year-olds attending a birthday party all opened their condoms at once, and immediately blew them into balloons and started batting them around the restaurant." The mixup also caused the Provincetown schools to receive The Last Airbender toys in turn. Superintendent Beth Singer admitted, "This was actually very successful among the younger grades, where students would much rather get a stuffed 'Momo' doll than a condom."

In response to this terrible, embarrassing incident that has already caused at least one pregnancy scare and several parental upheavals in Provincetown, the producers of The Last Airbender released a formal thank you the McDonald's, the post office, and the Provincetown School System, for (I'm not making this up), "doing something that might actually get somebody to notice our lame movie." This is referring to the critical and fanbased near-universal panning of the movie, which has actually gone on to be relatively successful commercially, opening to the number 2 spot in the box-office in its first week of release.
