So... whats the deal with the Tekken movie then?

Every time I check up on it, the cast list gets even bigger, but there is never anything new.

And the sheer amount of confirmed characters in the film now surpasses Mortal Kombat Annihilation! Well... it either surpasses it, or is coming pretty damn close. Lei Wulong and Asuka Kazama (two of my favorite characters) were just confirmed with Robin Shou playing Lei.

Robin's in like every fighting game movie adaption! Mortal Kombat 1 and 2, Dead or Alive, Street Fighter the Flop of Chun-Li (won't use the word Legend) and now Tekken!

But seriously though, why so many characters? And I'm a little disappointed that they've gone for the newest characters first like Marduk, Dragunov, Miguel, Zafina, etc. There are even quite a few original characters...

Check out this little statement the director said;

"Tekken will not be anything like Mortal Kombat or any of the Lara Croft movies. You will get the feeling of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon. A chance to get to know the characters before the inevitable slap down. It will have plenty of 'A' list actors... Our budget is good so we shouldn't have problem there."

A chance to get to know them? What, all 30 of them?

And I've also noticed that that Zheng character they were going on about for months has now been suddenly cut from the film and replaced by some guy named Lucas.

I personally think that Tekken is gonna be Axed just like Akira movie...

If not they better try to AT LEAST not make a mockery of it like DBE and SF...so that I can just simply DISLIKE IT...without looping the WHY question for moths as i do for these two DBE and SF.

Agreed! Tekken is my favorite fighting game! Woe bedite them if they f**k it up. Or they could just save themselves a lot of grief and axe it, do a good script based on say... Tekken 1 and there we go.

Seriously, there are way too many characters in this film!

^exactly, but many characters from Tekken like Ana, Nina, Law, and such are based on realistically looking people, so its kinda easier to find cast and its not such a bad idea as a DB movie or Smurfs movie .

But still, some characters like Jin, are just to awesome to be destroyed with some ordinary looking guy who, I bet, wouldn't even have Jin's "DBZ-style" hair.
Not to mention that proper cast is just ONE aspect...they have to do it fully right.

But what am I saying, even if they had A PERFECT cast for any of Tekken characters, they wouldn't use it... cause - hes not a big name... or he/she's not attractive to mainstream fangirls/fanboys...stupid Hollywood...seriously!...no offense to the good studios, good movies and good people from Hollywood of course...but STUPID, STUPID Hollywood and their mainstream crap!

Oh by the way, John foo (the guy who plays Jin Kazama) doesn't have the gravity defying hairstyle. It's just this sort of... medium size hair that droops down. I've seen actual people that have replicated the hairstyle perfectly!

They didn't even TRY with the hair in this movie, but I will admit this; The guy who plays Marshall Law (Cung Lee) looks JUST like him! I'm serious, its spot on. I also saw this image of Anna and Nina from the film one time, but it might have been a fake... But yeah, Cung was spot on!

Like some of you might know, I am totally obsessed with that, if I could be sure that it wouldn't broke I would sleep like that I just love DBZ-like hairstyles, shame there are just no good nor affordable hairs sprays here

As for the Cung Le well yeah he seems to be a good role, btw he is a great middleweight MMA fighter and I know about him long before this.
But having Jin with ordinary hair is already one horrible let down for me...

They ruin the hair a lot now Jin Kazama's too! Do they hate Japanese people's hair styles?
