JRJR on the Avengers

I'm sorry, but I've never been a Romita Jr. fan and it's crap like this that reminds me why. I never thought that his artwork was great, or good for that matter. I just saw his cover and interior 'art' for The Avengers and I mean, come on. Does this not look like it was drawn by a 3rd grader? His crappy cartoon style clashes with Iron Man and War Machine's armor. Guys like Thor look horribly misproportion and for some reason JRJR must have some kind of fetish for women who have cheek bones like women in their 90s-100s. Just look at Spider-Women, the ugliest character model I think I have ever seen. She looks like she had most of her jaw surgically removed. The rest of the women looks like Heath Ledger's Joker put smiles on their faces.

I have to wonder if JRJR got to be one of the top guys at Marve just because of his father after seeing this garbage.

Just compare his cover art to Djurdjevic's:

Thanks. I know the only character JRJR ever does a decent job drawing is Spider-Man, but he's so hard to screw up it doesn't even matter. Peter Parker on the other hand is easy to botch (just look how ridiculous he looked in One More Day).

Let's not forget he's also the same person who created that hideous, spindly-legged design for the Anti-Venom and was immediately trumped by the artist who was able to make a bad*** design for the Anti-Venom in New Ways to live.
