yeah, sometimes we play up that dynamic online to creep out people. we play this one MMORPG while we're in the same room together, and we'll type the same stuff at the same time and tell strangers "YOU MUST SEW US TOGETHER! WE MUST ALL BECOME ONE!" and creepy stuff like that. We laugh our asses off, the stranger probably gets nightmares : D it's a win-win!

Saw it a few days ago... Its just amazing Its already on my top10... i really love this kind of animes... it made me think about a lot of stuff!! The research i made just to try to understand it was just insane

Have you already seen Dennou Coil?? I read the basic plot and it looks similar (in some ways) to Lain.. Do you recommend it?

old thread, and sorry for the double-post, but I could use some recommendations for the future, and I have a lot of things to talk about.

WHAT I'M WATCHING NOW: Gurren Lagann! yes, I'm finally watching it. and it's AWESOME.

Stuff I watched recently:
-Vision of Escaflowne (an awesome classic, everyone must see it)
-Rozen Maiden (probably too cutesy for you guys)
-Soul Eater (one of my new very-favorite animes, I'd say top 5. It's like Naruto meets Bleach, but I liked it more than both shows combined)
-Umineko no naku koro ni (spiritual successor to Higurashi, more bloody-murdering time-loop fun.)

I also watched a few episodes of Panty and Stocking, which is good and has amazing animation and style and can be really funny, but it was too pervy for me so I stopped after like episode 3.

So, after I finish Gurren lagann, I don't know what I'll watch. I've had some animes called "Squid Princess", "Ghost Hound" and "Gilgamesh" in mind, but I know nothing about them. Anyone have any better ideas?

Do not, and I repeat do NOT WATCH THE UMINEKO ANIME!

Also, if I could be so bold, I have something I recently watched.
It's called Black Rock Shooter, so far there's only 1 OVA, but it's pretty fucking awesome

But I already finished umineko! lol. I thought it was ok.

I've wanted to see Black Rock Shooter for ages, the original song and music video is my favorite thing ever. I didn't wanna watch the OVA because there was only one episode, I know it would just drive me INSANE with wanting more. But I suppose I should just watch it. Got any other shows?

It will be a week or so before I'm gone with Gurren Lagann though, I'm on ep. 8 and I watch 2 a day.

Yeah...anyway keep at it. Gurren Lagann is some of the best shit in the last few years.
I'd also recommend Panty and Stocking (you're into that random insane crazy shit), Dead Leaves.
Then there's a movie called "Summer Wars". By the same guy that did the first Digimon movie (Japanese version, "Our War Game")

I can't think of much else on the spot.

Also, obviously it's alright from just watching the anime, but if you read the VNs, you'll see what I mean.

yeah, I really like gurren lagann so far!

Panty and stocking was cool but the sex-jokes were too much for me, I quit on episode 3. I really loved the art style though, reminded me of power puff girls ad Dexter's lab.

lol yeah I saw summer wars over the...Summer. Me and neodemon were talking about it a few posts back X D It was the same guy as the digimon movie? It kinda had the same plot with the whole "monster in the computer THE WORLD'S GONNA END so you have to kill it", but Summer Wars was still really really good.

I've been interested in trying visual novels, I got a game for the DS that's kinda like one, "9 hours 9 persons 9 doors". You would love that game.
and seriously, Soul Eater is right up your alley, dood. Try it. The first couple episodes aren't the greatest but it gets really cool

You're doing it wrong. Seriously, best episode was by FAR episode 6.
And you have shit tons of references to western pop culture all over the place

yeah, maybe I'll give it another go. When I tried watching it, I had just finished K-On season 2 so it felt weird watching a show like that after something so innocent (well, in comparison). After Gurren Lagann, it shouldn't feel so weird.

Honestly, if you want some GOOD shows of that kind, try Poney Poney Dash (I think that's how you spell it).

K-ON is frankly a poor man's Lucky Star

Although every single show of this style is a poor man's Azumanga (nothing, and I mean NOTHING will ever be as awesome as Azumanga Daioh when it comes to the "slice of life with cute girls" style)

I agree about the Azumanga thing. The last episode made me weep. For me, the pecking order goes Azumaga, K-On, then Lucky Star. I Like Lucky Star a lot, but I like the characters more on K-on and there's a bit more of a plot, plus I like the music. yes I am horrible X D

I think it's Pani Pony Dash, I've heard the name before but I have no clue what it's about.

^Hey speaking about Lucky Star, recently I've seen the opening and I got to say that is amongst the best songs I've heard in a while, it's so energetic, happy, positive and inspiring I really like it especially the bass, it puts me in a great mood whenever I listen to it.

Sometimes I really wonder where the heck people who make this kind of music go?
I have been missing something like this since Sonic Rush OST.
