Pokemon Fire Red Version

Well, its benn 10 years since I got the original Red version and my Gameboy Color, so I decided to buy a Gameboy Advance SP and Pokemon Fire Red Version!

What can I say? I fudging LOVE IT!!!

Its... It's... well, lemme put it this way; have you ever played a remake that was done just right? Fire Red is a fine example of a remake done right! Everything is improved over the original!

- The Pokemon sprites are the best they've ever looked.
- The EXP bar from Gold and Silver is still there.
- The soundtrack is remixed and sounds great.
- The Pokemon storage system on the PC is so much better, you get clear pictures of each Pokemon in each box now!
- Being able to catch Meowth on a Red version was a nice surprise, you could prieviously only catch him on Blue version.
- The new move Metal Claw for Charmander (my favorite Pokemon) made him effective against the first Gym Leader, Brock's rock type Pokemon! ^___^
- Tag battles are really cool.
- And more!

I've loved Red version (and all other versions I've played) and this brought back so many great memories; Recieving my first starter Pokemon, constantly beating the rival, winning my first gym battle, demolishing Erika with my levelled up Charmander, helping the poor Mother Marowak, etc.

One thing I don't get is that just after beating Brock, you're given an item called Running Shoes, these enable you to move around as quickly as a DBZ character, yet you can still get the bike! Haha!

Overall -
This is one of the best games I've played in a long while. As stated before, its an example of a remake done right. I love Fire Red version!! I've also heard that you can get Pokemon from Johto and other regions as well, yay! I want Chikorita and Kirlia!

Also the Gameboy Advance SP is a great system! Its a very good little system!

The back light is awesome and the only con is that there are no slots for head phones. Other than that, its great!

I just started playing Diamond. Unfortunately, the batteries ran out and I can't find my charger. It's okay so far, but I feel like I've done it before too many times.

Seriously, those remakes of the first 2 gens are the only things nintendo has done right with the franchise over the last few years

I just got to fighting Red in Soulsilver (my cousin didn't get superior Heartgold, and I don't have the money myself):

Anyway, it's just like I remember it...that feeling of hopelessness as he fucking wrecks your shit if you make even the slightest mistake

I caught Articuno yesterday (my favorite Legendary Bird) and I caught Zapdos today! I'm currently training in the Pokemon House on Cinnabar Island. I've defeated all the trainers in the gym and have just got Blaine to go.

Hey does anyone else think that Moltres should have been in the Pokemon House/Mansion? I think it would be much more suited there. Victory Road seemed like a random place to put it.

Oh, I just beat Blaine and did this short 3 island quest. The new islands weren't in the original Red, Blue/Green and Yellow versions. I also beat Giovanni surprisingly easily! I'm now gonna train for the second to last rival battle and Victory Road! Then its onto the pokemon League!

Well they did move Moltres to One island, he's at the top of the Volcano now as you may know...

Yeah, it's no longer at Victory Road which is disappointing. Interestingly enough, you can see some of it's feathers where it used to be in the previous games.

Moltre's flame is known to light the torch of the pokemon league. It wasn't just something the anime made up, it was game cannon

I gots me a Moltres! I climbed that massive volcano and caught with just 3 Ultra Balls. So in an interesting twist, Moltres became the easiest of the three legendary birds to capture!

I also found that VS Seeker item which allows you to challenge previously beaten trainers. I'm training against fighting Pokemon trainers!

It took you till now to find that thing... and that is why you always talk to everybody in an RPG they may give you that valuable item.

Also a little hint, a good place to use it is by the because you're next to the ember spa, a place where you can quickly heal as well as train, so you could do that for a massive amount of level grinding

She was literally the only person I somehow missed talking to. And I've been training at that exact spot for the past few days! I've had quite a few evolutions! ^___^
