It only works for the DS games - Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Too bad it doesn't work for the Advance, but that stuff just wasn't around during the GBA times.

I've almost beaten the main story. I'm just level-grinding right now. I still don't understand which moves to use on the Pokemon who have two types.
Example: This one Pokemon is Psychic and Fighting. Psychic is super-effective against fighting and fighting is weak against psychic so I'm at a loss of what type of attack to use to get a super effective hit.

I think double types shouldn't exist, I've never liked 'em and it sort of gives them a unfair advantage. They tried something like that in the Trading Card Game by introducing the "Delta Species" cards. With this booster pack you could find such cards as an electric type Pidgeotto and Starmie and a fire type Mankey. Oddly enough, they still had the same weaknesses...

I just got my hands on a SoulSilver and a Platinum
Cannot disclose the SS code since it's my cousin (who's 7), but I can disclose the code on platinum
That said, my pokemon aren't trained at all...not even to decent levels, let alone EV and moveset built
I need to start working on that soon

Those are only weak to flying I believer...and possibly ghost
Dark wont work due to the fact that fighting is resistant to dark, hence it cancels out the super effective with the resistance, making it a normal blow
You have to consider more than just one weakness
There is only, so far, one know true immune combination to super effective hits. Ghost/Dark. There are only 2 pokemon of this nature, Sabeley and Spiritbomb.
Neither are very strong.

So you basically have to have a freaking strategy guide sitting in front of you, hehe. Not that that's a problem, that's what Smogon University is for.
A little warning about the game without spoiling anything. When you get to the Elite Four church-looking building - SAVE before you enter and heal you Pokemon on the left side of the center. I went in a bought a bunch of items on the right side, then was going to heal my Pokemon and for some stupid reason they had to have the area around the person you talk to who lets you in to fight the Elite Four activated a random battle that's one of the toughest I've come across - I had to waste a bunch of Revives because of that piece of crap.

You mean the last rival battle?
That shit was a cake walk. I mean, the strongest pokemon the fag had in my case was a level 53 Empoleon. One close combat from Infernape (which I had at level 55 by this point) and it was ALL over.
I fucking love Infernape. Favorite sweeper ever.
But Charizard still holds special place in my heart. Fuck Stealth Rock for making him so easy to take down. Fuck it with a rack

Yeah I suppose that kinda fucks it up
I remember I had one fainted pokemon, but mostly all of my other guys were alright. I did have to waste some PP restorers because I was out of usable moves in my water guy (Gyarados at the time)

Sorry for the double post, but to anyone living in Europe that doesn't already know this, you can obtain a Mystery Gift Enigma Stone to get Latios or Latias depending on your version
This is doable with pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver

I have a Latias. Did you know Latias and Blaziken were originally supposed to be one Pokemon?
As for Barry he did another surprise attack on me last night way after I beat the story mode. I saw him standing there, so I thought he'd just give advice as all the other characters did. Nope, instead it was a full-on battle. I was training baby Pokemon at the time, but luckily I had a LVL 70 Rayquaza, and LVL 60-something Infernape and Empoleon so I was able to win, while getting some major level-ups for the babies.
